Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad have completed a four-player trade ahead of IPL 2027.
Liam Livingstone and Jack Edwards will join CSK. Khaleel Ahmed and Nathan Ellis will move to SRH. The BCCI confirmed the deal on Thursday.
Livingstone will join Chennai for INR 6 crore. SRH had bought him for INR 13 crore at the IPL 2025 mini-auction.
Liam Livingstone gets a fresh start at CSK
Livingstone had a quiet IPL 2026 season with SRH. He played only two matches and did not get many chances.
He was part of RCB’s title-winning squad in 2025 before moving to Hyderabad. Now, the England all-rounder will get a fresh start with CSK.
Jack Edwards will also join Chennai. His trade value remains unchanged at INR 3 crore. The Australian did not play a match for SRH in IPL 2026.
Khaleel Ahmed and Nathan Ellis move to SRH
SRH will get two fast bowlers in the deal. Both had injury-hit campaigns last season.
Nathan Ellis was signed by CSK for INR 2 crore. He was expected to handle the death overs after Matheesha Pathirana’s departure.
However, a hamstring injury ruled him out of the entire IPL 2026 season. He picked up the injury during the domestic One-Day Cup final. Spencer Johnson replaced him in the CSK squad.
Khaleel Ahmed also missed a large part of the season. He played five matches for Chennai before a quadriceps injury ruled him out.
The left-arm pacer will now return to SRH. He previously played for the Hyderabad franchise from 2018 to 2021.
The four-player deal gives both teams a chance to reshape their squads ahead of IPL 2027. CSK have added two overseas players, while SRH have brought in two Indian and overseas pace options.
