T Natarajan is back at Sunrisers Hyderabad. The franchise has traded Zeeshan Ansari to Delhi Capitals ahead of IPL 2027 to bring the left-arm pacer back into its ranks.

Natarajan will join SRH for INR 5 crore. Delhi had bought him for INR 10.75 crore at the 2025 auction. Ansari moves to DC at his existing price of INR 40 lakh.

The trade brings Natarajan back to familiar surroundings. He played for SRH from 2020 to 2024 and enjoyed his best IPL season in 2024. His 19 wickets helped the team reach the final.

T Natarajan returns to his old franchise

T Natarajan struggled to make a big impact during his two seasons with Delhi. He played 12 matches and took just five wickets.

His record with SRH was much stronger. The left-arm quick led their bowling charts in IPL 2024 with 19 wickets. His yorkers also made him a key option in the death overs.

Natarajan has taken 72 wickets in 73 IPL matches. He has an average of 32.97 and an economy rate of 9.21.

His IPL career began with Punjab in 2017. SRH signed him for INR 40 lakh before the 2018 season. An injury ruled him out that year. He did not play in 2019 either.

The franchise brought him back for INR 4 crore ahead of IPL 2022. He soon became a regular in the pace attack. Now, he gets another chance to make an impact in orange.

Ansari moves to Delhi after limited chances

Zeeshan Ansari will begin a new chapter with Delhi Capitals. The 26-year-old leg-spinner played his first IPL season with SRH in 2025.

He made an instant impression against Delhi. Ansari picked up three wickets on his IPL debut against the Capitals. He finished the season with six wickets from 10 matches.

SRH retained him for IPL 2026. However, he did not feature in a single game.

The switch gives Ansari a fresh opportunity. He will now compete for a spot in Delhi’s spin attack. His challenge is to turn his potential into regular performances.

What the trade means for SRH and DC

SRH regain a bowler who knows the franchise well. Natarajan has a proven IPL record and brings experience at the death. His return could strengthen their pace options for the new season.

Delhi, meanwhile, add a young leg-spinner to their squad. Ansari has already shown he can take wickets at this level. He will now look to earn more game time.

Both players will hope the move works in their favour. Natarajan wants to rediscover his best form with SRH. Ansari will be looking to make his mark in Delhi colours when IPL 2027 gets underway.
